An antique original 1833 hand coloured print.
Prints of this age were printed in black ink and then a team of artists would hand colour each print to match the natural colours of the animal.
Sir William Jardine, 7th Baronet of Applegarth (23 February 1800 – 21 November 1874) was a Scottish naturalist. He is known for his editing of a long series of natural history books, The Naturalist's Library.
All our antique and vintage prints are framed in house using solid wood frames and archival grade methods.
Archival grade means that everything this antique print is touching is acid free and PH neutral which means the print is chemically stable and preserved for generations to come.
