About:

A vintage 1981 Limited Edition print by Robert E. Sebastian

Robert E. Sebastian is a member of the Wolf Clan, from the Gitxsan Nation. His works have appeared throughout world collections, including the British Royal family's. Presently, Robert works as a journalist for the Wet'suwet'en Hereditary Chiefs office. In his spare time, he carves, paints, and writes.

The "Chiefs Rattle" is said to originate in the north, perhaps among the Tsimshian, the Chiefs rattle or raven rattle is now considered an item of traditional regalia throughout the Northwest Coast.

Chiefs use these rattles as part of their ceremonial dress in dances.

This rattle depicts a shaman on the back of a raven.
