Ares is the Greek God of courage and War. He is one of the twelve Olympians, and the son of Zeus and Hera. He embodies the physical valor necessary for success in war but can also personify sheer brutality and bloodlust.
In Roman Mythology Mars is the Roman God of war but also agriculture. He was the son of Juptier and Juno, and he was the most prominent of the military gods in the religion of the Roman army.
